I first met Mr Carrothers in September 2020. I am 39 and have been suffering with severe knee pain in both knees for the past 9 years since being diagnosed with rhematoid arthritis. I have already had both of my hips replaced previously but I was very apprehensive about having knee replacement surgery because of my age. But as soon as I had my first appointment with Mr Carrothers, he put me at ease and understood how the pain had completely taken over my life. He recommended we go ahead with a Conformis knee replacement which is a made to measure knee. Despite being in the midst of the covid pandemic, I was able to get both my left knee and then my right knee replaced within 6 months. Mr Carrothers was so calm, reassuring and professional throughout the whole process. It is now 6 weeks since my right knee replacement and I finally feel like I am getting my life back! I still have a long way to go, but I finally went on a walk today for the first time in 9 years without being in severe pain. I can never thank Mr Carrothers enough for what he has done for me. Highly recommended!

Left knee uni-compartmental replacement at Spire in April 2021 after he did my right knee in Nov 2017. I was very keen to use him again as I am a golfer and was not able to play without pain. Procedure, consultant and hospital were very efficient and I was discharged from hospital the day after the operation and back on the golf course 5 weeks later! I can now walk comfortably up to 16000 steps a day after only 10 weeks (including 18 holes) and my golf is getting better! Andrew Carrothers is a highly skilled professional and a genuinely nice and caring person too. After 2 very successful partial knee replacements I can highly recommend him.

I was very grateful for Mr Carrothers’ charisma, patience, willingness to help as best he could. He committed to putting me on the NHS Urgent list for a hip replacement but unfortunately this was anywhere between 12-24 months due to the Coronavirus pandemic. I would not have lasted that long, so between myself and my family we scraped together the funds for Mako surgery, done Privately at the Nuffield in Cambridge by Mr Carrothers. His care and skill are second to none and I can highly recommend his services.

I first met Mr Carrothers in late March 2021. After having my left hip replaced 7 years previously, I was experiencing a similar deterioration in my right hip. He suggested a Mako assisted total hip replacement which was performed on May 17th. I was able to return home after 3 days and have continued a steady and strong recovery… at 4 weeks post op, I now feel strong and pretty much pain free! Today Mr Carrothers has given consent to my driving again which is yet another step on the road to full health!! I would wholeheartedly recommend Mr Carrothers and the procedure he performed as being totally life changing.
